KEY LEARNING AREAS

Our school follows the NSW Syllabus for the 6 Key Learning Areas, which include English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts and Personal Development/Health/PE. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard to enhance learning opportunities, curriculum delivery and prepare students as 21st century learners.
 
In addition to the basics of education, we also offer programs to cater for the needs of the individual learner. These include extensive enrichment programs involving band (combined with Bowen PS), singing, dance, computers and public speaking.
 
Support programs including Reading Recovery, English as a Second Language (ESL) and an established STLA program are offered.
 
We have established links with the high schools, so that Stage 3 students attend ‘linkage days’ to help prepare them for high school.
